Teapot update stuff
I’m so pleased with myself. I have solved the mystery of ‘how did the teapot get to Washington from Philadelphia’? I think it moved from Philadelphia to Vermont with Charles Appleton* Miles, traveled to California in about 1935 with his son, Appleton Train Miles., and then north to Washington in about 1960 with Appleton T. Miles Jr, who owned it until he died. There is a ten year hiatus between 2003 and 2013, but that’s really not very important, as it stayed near enough to the Miles family home in Washington to end up at the thrift store in Lynnwood.
And now it’s gone home to Boston. You know, that’s extremely satisfying. It really, really is.
*I had been wondering where the name ‘Appleton’ came from, but now I see: Appleton was the maiden name of Solomon Pierson Miles’s wife, so it became their son’s middle name.
